ivimuse sarl ("ivimuse", "we", "us") develops Aquanota, a platform that music schools and institutions license to run their teaching across desktop and mobile. This policy explains what information Aquanota and our website collect, how we use it, and the choices you and your institution have. We build our products to work with as little personal data as possible.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information β€” your name, email address, role (teacher, student or administrator) and the institution you belong to.
  • Lessons & scheduling β€” calendars, bookings, attendance and course details that you or your institution create in Aquanota.
  • Shared content β€” the scores, sheet music, documents and other files you upload or share, and the videos you record in the app to review practice.
  • Usage & diagnostics β€” anonymous analytics and crash reports that help us fix bugs and improve the product.

2. How we use information

To provide and operate Aquanota, deliver lessons and feedback, manage accounts, scheduling and shared content, support institutions and their users, handle billing with institutions, and keep the service secure. We do not use your data for advertising, and we never sell it.

3. Institutions and your data

When an institution licenses Aquanota, that institution decides how its teachers' and students' data is used and acts as the data controller; ivimuse acts as a processor that handles the data on its behalf, under our agreement with the institution. If you are a teacher or student, please raise questions about your data with your institution first.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run Aquanota (such as cloud hosting, storage, video processing and analytics), and only as needed to operate the service. We may disclose information where required by law. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

5. Storage and security

Your content and recordings are stored on secured cloud infrastructure. We use encryption in transit and access controls to protect data, and we restrict access to the people who need it to run the service.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data and content only as long as the institution's licence is active, as needed to provide the service, or as required by law. When a licence ends, institutions can export their data and request its deletion.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Where your data is managed by an institution, we will help that institution respond to your request.

8. Children and students

Aquanota is used in teaching settings where some students are minors. Student accounts are created and managed by their institution, which is responsible for obtaining any parental consent required by law. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children without that consent.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
